Cyber crimes related to investment and business frauds have been increasing in recent times. To address this issue and protect the citizens and institutions of Telangana, the State government has established the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TSCSB) in Hyderabad.

The TSCSB Director has instructed the bureau’s staff to gather information about the offenders involved in these frauds through technical analysis of the collected data. In September 2023, the Director organized a mega drive with 14 teams of Investigating Officers from six police Commissionerates. These teams visited nine states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, UP, and Telangana.

During the operation, the teams arrested 19 individuals connected to 143 cases registered in Telangana and 726 reported incidents in other states. They also seized various items such as mobile phones, a laptop, debit cards, bank passbooks, a PoS machine, and cheque books.

The TSCSB advises citizens to be cautious and not fall for manipulative techniques used to lure victims in business and investment frauds. They specifically warn against part-time jobs involving malicious trading applications, movie/travel destinations, and rating frauds, as these schemes often result in large sums of money being stolen.
