Hyderabad: The investigation by the Telangana government into the remarks made by Milla Magee, a Miss World contestant from London, is now complete. Jayesh Ranjan, the State Tourism Special Chief Secretary, stated on Friday that no action will be taken against her.
Speaking to the media, Jayesh Ranjan confirmed the inquiry’s conclusion, noting that the state government will not proceed with any measures against Milla Magee. He mentioned that the Miss World Organisation has initiated legal proceedings against her in London, and the UK government will handle any legal actions.
Previously, Miss England withdrew from the Miss World competition, citing personal issues. In a London tabloid interview, Milla Magee claimed she felt disrespected, alleging that contestants were asked to entertain wealthy male sponsors. Despite praising the hospitality and expressing respect for Telangana, she questioned the event’s true purpose.
In response, Julia Morley, CEO of the Miss World Organisation, denied these accusations. Morley explained that Milla Magee had cited a family emergency involving her mother’s health as the reason for her departure from the competition, emphasizing that the Miss World event promotes respect and is a “beauty with a purpose” initiative.
