The alliance between the TDP, Jana Sena Party (JSP), and BJP in Andhra Pradesh is having trouble finalizing candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly seats, especially in the Uttarandhra region. The BJP has been given six Lok Sabha and ten Assembly seats in the state. Speculation suggests that the BJP wants to contest in Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, and Araku, with senior party leaders competing for these seats.
Andhra Pradesh BJP president Daggubati Purandeswhari is working with the party high command in New Delhi to decide on the seats. There is no consensus on the Lok Sabha seats, with various leaders vying for positions. The TDP has recommended that the BJP field a BC candidate instead of an OC candidate in Vizianagaram.
In the Assembly segments, there are issues in Visakhapatnam South, where a fight broke out between Jana Sena cadres over the constituency ticket. The TDP is facing internal challenges from senior leaders like Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, who were expecting tickets from constituencies now allotted to the JSP.
There is also open revolt in Dharmavaram and Narasaraopet over candidate selection. In Dharmavaram, JSP cadres held a rally pushing for their general secretary to be allocated the seat, while in Narasaraopet, a TDP worker attempted suicide over concerns about ticket allocation. The situation remains uncertain for these constituencies within the grand alliance.
