In Wanaparthy, students at BC Welfare and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) hostels are facing significant difficulties due to poor facilities. This problem is particularly severe in areas like Pebbair, Veepanagandla, Kothakota, and Pangal. One of the major issues is the absence of electricity at night, which is causing discomfort and worry for the students.

The hostels are also lacking basic amenities. For instance, the bathrooms at some hostels do not have doors, which creates a challenging situation for the students. Parents and local community members are concerned about the neglect by the school officers who are supposed to oversee these hostels. They are urging district authorities to step in and address these issues before any serious incidents occur.

Students often find themselves in darkness during power outages, with little help from the hostel staff. At KGBV, even though the in-charge teacher is aware of the power issues, no steps are taken to fix them. Instead, students are given excuses, such as the power outage affecting the entire village. This neglectful attitude has been reported to the school officer, but still, no action has been taken.

The frustration among parents and villagers is growing due to the school officer’s failure to act against negligent staff. The lack of electricity at night is frightening for students, who are left vulnerable to mosquito bites and other dangers. This situation raises concerns about the spread of diseases like malaria, typhoid, and dengue.

Parents are calling on district authorities to conduct regular inspections, especially at night, to ensure the hostels are well-maintained and safe for students. They demand immediate and strict action against negligent school officers and teachers. The safety and comfort of the students need to be prioritized, and necessary measures should be implemented without delay.
