Telangana TDP received a big blow ahead of the Assembly elections as K Gnaneshwar Mudiraj, the party’s State Unit President, announced his resignation. He was disappointed that TDP did not approve his proposal to contest in the elections. Gnaneshwar is now considering his options and may finalize his political career in a day or two. BRS leadership has already approached him to join their party.

Gnaneshwar, who belongs to the Mudiraj community, had a strong influence over his community in the State. His support during the elections will likely sway the Mudiraj voters. TDP President, N Chandrababu Naidu, rejected Gnaneshwar’s plan to contest in Telangana, which has left many TDP leaders unhappy. Consequently, several of them are seeking opportunities to join BRS and Congress.
