Telangana Launches Educational Program for Government School Students
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has introduced a new initiative called the Telangana Darshini program. This program is designed to enhance the educational experience of government school students by allowing them to visit historical and tourist sites across the state, free of charge. The government has already issued official orders to start this initiative, aiming to provide students with learning experiences that go beyond the classroom.
The Telangana Darshini program was created with the belief that students can learn more by visiting and seeing historical and cultural landmarks firsthand, rather than just reading about them in textbooks. The program hopes to give students a deeper understanding of Telangana’s rich heritage, culture, and history.
During the launch event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with Excise and Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, unveiled the Telangana Darshini poster. The program will be open to students from Class 2 all the way up to degree-level students. The groups of students will be divided based on their grade levels. To support the program, the government has set aside ₹12.10 crores, which will cover transportation and other necessary costs.
In the first phase of the program, the government plans to take 1 lakh students on educational tours to important tourist destinations across Telangana. Special committees with nodal officers will be created to manage the program and coordinate with different departments to ensure it runs smoothly. Detailed guidelines for how Telangana Darshini will work have already been laid out in the government order.
This initiative not only offers students a unique and enriching learning experience but also helps them build a stronger connection to Telangana’s cultural and historical roots.
