Telangana Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao praised boxers Nikhat Zareen and athlete Agasara Nandini for winning medals at the Asian Games in China. He commended them for bringing honor to Telangana and India. The Chief Minister also highlighted the success of Telangana Gurukulams in producing talented athletes. The State government’s support played a significant role in their achievements.
CM KCR reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting athletes in reaching new milestones in sports worldwide.
Agasara Nandini, a student of Telangana Gurukula, won a bronze medal in heptathlon at the Asian Games. She is the only athlete from Telangana participating in athletics at the event. Nandini is studying BBA second year at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College and started her education in Gurukula School. Despite coming from a humble background, Nandini showed exceptional interest in sports and excelled both academically and athletically.
Nikhat Zareen, born in Nizamabad and now residing in Hyderabad, began her athletic journey at the age of 12. She became a two-time world champion and the second Indian boxer to achieve this feat after Mary Kom. Nikhat’s father, a former cricket and football player, trained all his four daughters in sports. The Chief Minister’s vision and support have contributed to the success of these athletes.
Overall, both Nikhat Zareen and Agasara Nandini’s achievements have brought pride to Telangana and India on the international stage.
