Telangana continues to experience severe cold conditions as the state enters its 21st consecutive day of intense cold wave on December 27, 2025. Residents across the state woke up to freezing temperatures, with several areas recording single-digit minimum temperatures.
In the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, HCU Serlingampally recorded the lowest temperature at 9.9°C, making it the coldest spot in the city. Moula Ali followed closely with 10.7°C, while Alwal registered 10.8°C.
Other areas in Hyderabad that experienced significant cold included Rajendranagar and Macha Bollaram, both recording 11.1°C. Gachibowli registered 11.2°C, Qutbullapur saw 11.4°C, and Shahpur Nagar recorded 11.5°C.
Sivarampalle recorded 11.7°C, West Maredpally stood at 11.8°C, and Neredmet registered 12.2°C. The relatively warmer areas within GHMC limits included Kapra at 12.6°C, Asifnagar at 12.9°C, Begumpet at 13°C, and Nagole at 13.2°C.
Across Telangana, the cold wave intensified in several districts. Ginnedari in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 7.4°C. Kohir in Sangareddy district registered 7.6°C, while Bheempoor in Adilabad district recorded 8.8°C.
Moinabad in Rangareddy district saw temperatures drop to 9.2°C, and Pothireddipet in Siddipet district recorded 9.4°C. Gandhari in Kamareddy district registered 9.7°C, while Pembi in Nirmal district recorded 10°C.
Other cold-affected areas included Mominpet in Vikarabad district at 10.1°C and Yeldurthy in Medak district, also at 10.1°C.
However, relief appears to be on the horizon for residents. According to weather forecasts, respite from the cold wave is expected to begin from January 1, 2026, bringing hope of warmer conditions as the new year begins.
