The Telangana government has started transferring Rythu Bharosa funds to farmers, with deposits beginning on Wednesday. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao confirmed that the financial aid will be directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts. In the first phase, priority will be given to landowners cultivating up to one acre, benefiting around 17.03 lakh farmers across the state.

The Rythu Bharosa scheme was launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on January 26 to provide financial assistance for crop investment. However, during the initial launch, only one village per mandal received funds. With the latest announcement, the government has now expanded the disbursement to include all eligible farmers in Telangana.

Earlier, farmers in Telangana received financial aid under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. The new government has restructured the program, renaming it Rythu Bharosa and increasing the assistance amount from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per acre annually. Under the revised scheme, each farmer will receive Rs 6,000 per acre for each cropping season.

The Telangana government has allocated Rs 20,000 crore annually for this farm investment support. The funds will be distributed in phases, starting with small-scale landowners before extending to those with larger holdings. Previously, funds were credited based on land size, with larger landowners receiving assistance first. The new approach prioritizes small farmers, ensuring that those with fewer resources get support at the earliest.
