Secunderabad – Two retired military officers from Andhra Pradesh have begun an ambitious journey across the Pacific Ocean, celebrating their love for the sea and honoring their roots.

Colonel K Srinivas (Retd) from the EME and Captain CDNV Prasad (Retd) from the Indian Navy, both part of the 63rd National Defence Academy course (1980), set sail from Opua Bay, New Zealand, at 10:00 AM on May 14, 2025 (local time). They are heading toward Savusavu in Fiji, marking the first part of their long voyage to India.

The two veterans are traveling on a 34-foot sailboat named TYSTIE. Although the vessel is currently registered in Poland, they plan to transfer it to Indian registration once they reach Visakhapatnam. At that point, they also intend to rename the boat ‘VISHAKHA’, as a tribute to the historic port city.
