A group of Dalit boys teased some upper caste girls in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district. This caused tension in the area and the police had to bring in extra security. The situation in Gurla village is now under control. Five minor boys from the Dalit community were taken into custody because of a complaint from the girls. Six upper caste people were also arrested for beating up the boys.

The incident happened on Friday when the Dalit boys allegedly made inappropriate comments towards the upper caste girls. Initially, no one reported the incident to the police. However, on Saturday morning, some upper caste individuals brought the Dalit boys to the police station after beating them. They claimed that the boys had teased girls from their community. The girls also went to the police station and filed a complaint. As a result, a case was registered against the five boys under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
