The Muthyalamma temple in Secunderabad saw tense moments on Saturday when hundreds of devotees gathered. This was in response to a bandh called by local traders. The bandh was organized to protest the desecration of the temple that took place last week.

As news of the large gathering spread, heavy police forces were sent to the area to keep the situation under control. The police had to use a lathi charge to disperse the crowd and prevent any incidents. People were asked to leave the temple premises to ensure peace.

The bandh was called to demand strict punishment for the alleged intruder who was responsible for the desecration. The person had been caught, beaten by the crowd, and then handed over to the police. Tension also rose in Monda market when a group of people tried to enter a hotel where the alleged desecrators were believed to have held meetings. Police had previously identified a group that met regularly at this hotel as being involved in the desecration.
