Hyderabad: The Telangana government is set to reveal how Andhra Pradesh is unlawfully diverting Krishna River water. Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy will present a detailed report at Praja Bhavan on Wednesday. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is likely to attend, expressing the government’s determination to challenge Andhra Pradesh over water disputes. The gathering will include all ministers, Congress MPs, MLAs, and MLCs.
Reddy will also discuss the previous BRS government’s decision to alter the project’s route from Tummidihatti to Medigadda. This change has severely impacted the state’s irrigation system. Officials noted that Reddy will provide details on how Krishna River water was lifted without the Krishna River Management Board’s permission after Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation. The failure of the BRS government to safeguard Telangana’s rights to Krishna water will be a key topic in the presentation.
Additionally, the Minister will address technical problems from the construction and management of the Sundilla, Annaram, and Medigadda barrages by the previous administration. The state has already mentioned that the Kaleshwaram project has led to significant financial issues for Telangana.
