The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO) has extended the submission deadline for landowners and commercial establishments interested in developing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) under the Government of India’s PM E-Drive initiative. The corporation is inviting Expressions of Interest from eligible parties across six major cities in Telangana to build a robust charging infrastructure network.
The PM E-Drive initiative aims to accelerate electric mobility adoption throughout the country by supporting the development of accessible EV charging infrastructure. Under Category C of this initiative, the government is offering an 80% subsidy for upstream infrastructure, making it financially attractive for landowners and institutions to participate in the electric vehicle ecosystem.
EOIs are being invited for land parcels located within six designated cities in Telangana: Hyderabad, Greater Warangal, Patancheruvu, Sangareddy, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda. These cities have been selected under the National Clean Air Programme and Smart Cities Mission, making them priority locations for EV infrastructure development.
Interested parties must identify locations that meet specific criteria, including a minimum land area of 200 square yards. The locations should be situated along national highways, major state highways connecting Hyderabad and other cities, or high-traffic urban roads and arterial streets. Properties within or near market complexes, commercial hubs, and shopping malls with high vehicular movement and footfall are particularly encouraged. All proposed sites must provide 24×7 public access.
Additional requirements include adequate parking space for charger installation, easy entry and exit points with direct access from main roads or highways, and proximity to the nearest electrical connection point. The locations must require minimal civil modifications and should have clear visibility from main roads and surrounding areas to ensure easy accessibility for EV users.
Applicants are required to submit comprehensive documentation including proof of identity, land ownership details with legal documentation, recent photographs of the proposed land, and a layout showing road access and nearby landmarks. A consent letter for participation and proof of electricity connection at the proposed location, along with the distance from the nearest 11kV substation, must also be provided.
TGREDCO has clarified that for Category C locations, implementation will be undertaken through the State Nodal Agency or a Charge Point Operator selected through a transparent bidding process. Subsidy disbursement for upstream infrastructure only will be processed according to PM E-Drive guidelines. The corporation emphasized that submission on the portal does not guarantee the setting up of EV charging stations, as final eligibility and subsidy sanction will be subject to detailed evaluation.
Interested stakeholders can submit their applications through the official TGREDCO portal at https://tgredco.telangana.gov.in/PMEDrive.aspx or via email at ev@tgredco.telangana.gov.in. For further information, applicants may contact the designated helpline numbers +91 6304903957 or +91 6304903935 between 11:00 AM and 05:00 PM. The last date for submission has been extended up to 7th May 2026.
