Hyderabad: The head of Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), Musharraf Faruqui, instructed officials to ensure stable power during the rainy season. He emphasized that Superintending Engineers must keep a close watch on power supplies and meet weekly with their teams. They should focus especially on areas where power disruptions often happen and regularly check lines, transformers, and switches to avoid repeated problems.
He explained that many power cuts occur because tree branches touch or fall on power lines. Therefore, field staff should patrol areas with thick tree coverage and use past experience to manage these risks. Staff should also be ready at their offices during rain or when weather alerts are issued, quickly addressing any consumer complaints. Vehicles under the FOC now have GPS, helping them reach complainants faster.
The CMD mentioned that a past TGAIMS survey of the 11 kV network was successful, as it completed mapping of power infrastructure like poles and transformers.
