Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Monday praised former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for building some of the most iconic structures in Telangana. He criticized those who once promised to erase KCR’s legacy, saying they are now proudly displaying his achievements to the world.
According to Prashanth Reddy, major constructions like the Telangana Secretariat, the Police Command Control Centre, and the grand Yadadri Temple are lasting symbols of KCR’s leadership. “These are not simple creations that can be erased,” he said. “They are monuments that represent Telangana’s pride and will stand the test of time.”
He pointed out that even the current government is showcasing these symbols during international events like the Miss World pageant. What was once considered unnecessary or excessive is now being highlighted as part of the state’s culture and progress.
Reddy also mentioned the Martyrs’ Memorial Torch, another project by KCR, which honors those who sacrificed their lives for Telangana’s statehood. He said it serves as a reminder for leaders to work for the welfare of weaker communities.
He added that the 125-foot statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, also built during KCR’s tenure, should have been presented to the Miss World contestants. According to him, this would have helped share the story of Telangana’s struggle and the legacy of Ambedkar with a global audience.
Prashanth Reddy strongly criticized current Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress-led government, claiming that the state is now facing setbacks in every sector. He accused the current administration of failing to maintain the momentum built during the previous ten years under KCR.
“Under KCR, Telangana led the nation in development,” he said. “Now, all communities are suffering under Congress rule.”
He urged the public to remember the progress made during KCR’s time and to recognize the importance of preserving that legacy.
