Hyderabad: The Congress party in Telangana is facing challenges after Sunday’s Cabinet reshuffle. The inclusion of only three new members has upset many within the party. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and TPCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud quickly traveled to Delhi on Monday. They aimed to address concerns with the party’s central leadership about the dissatisfaction among various communities who felt left out.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) is closely monitoring the situation. They have instructed the state leaders to not only fill the remaining Cabinet positions but also to appoint people to other crucial roles swiftly.
During a meeting with AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, attended by Mahesh Kumar, a strategy was formed to resolve the internal conflicts caused by the Cabinet changes. The state leaders were urged to expedite the appointment process to prevent further issues.
There is also a suggestion to introduce two Deputy Chief Ministers to achieve a balance among different social and caste groups. This move comes as some party members have threatened to resign due to being overlooked for Cabinet positions.
Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy openly threatened to quit, prompting supporters of Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy to consider mass resignations, although Rajgopal Reddy himself has not commented, keeping his phone off.
Leaders from Bodhan and Munugode have vowed to harm the party’s chances in future elections. With local body elections approaching, party leaders are focusing on calming the upset senior members to stabilize the situation.
