    Rangareddy: The combined Ranga Reddy district transport department has collected an impressive revenue of Rs. 1,436 crore for the year 2024-25. This amount makes up 45% of the total revenue for the entire State.

    This information was shared by Joint Deputy Transport Commissioner Mamindla Chandra Shekhar Goud during a review meeting with transport officials from three districts on Friday.

    According to Goud, the three regions of the combined Ranga Reddy district—Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Vikarabad—together contributed Rs 1,436 crore. This is part of the State’s total revenue, which stood at Rs 3,195 crore this year.

    Breaking down the revenue, Goud explained that Ranga Reddy district alone collected Rs 802 crore. Medchal-Malkajgiri brought in Rs 595 crore, and Vikarabad collected Rs 39 crore. Together, these regions accounted for 45% of the State’s total revenue.

    The revenue came from various sources. Chandra Shekhar Goud detailed that Rs 161 crore came from quarterly collections, Rs 1,120 crore from lifetime taxes, Rs 92 crore from fees, Rs 21 crore from service charges, Rs 21 crore from green taxes, Rs 10 crore from inspections, and an additional Rs 32 crore from other collections.

    Goud also issued a warning to motorists. He said that if they fail to pay their quarterly taxes, their vehicles will be seized, and they will face heavy fines. A special drive is also being conducted to target overloaded vehicles.

    Several officials, including Subhash Chander Reddy, Venkat Reddy, Kiran Kumar, Srinivas Reddy, and Sushil Reddy, attended the review meeting.
