Gadwal, Telangana: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has demanded an immediate end to Operation Kagar, a military campaign taking place in the Dandakaranya region. TRS leader Nagardoddi Venkatramudu strongly criticized the central government, saying the operation is harming tribal communities and those seen as Maoist sympathizers.

TRS leaders say that under the name of fighting insurgents, the government is targeting innocent tribal people. They believe the operation is causing serious human rights violations and must stop immediately.

To support their stand, TRS members will attend the upcoming People’s Peace Meeting in Gadwal, scheduled for tomorrow. The party has invited intellectuals, civil rights groups, and democratic organizations to join the movement for peace and justice.

According to TRS, Operation Kagar has led to the deaths of hundreds of tribal people over the past few years. Activists, scholars, and human rights defenders across India have condemned the operation, calling it an “undeclared war” on indigenous communities.

TRS Party Chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) recently addressed the issue during a public event in Warangal on April 27. He promised to write an open letter to the central government, urging them to stop the operation and begin peace talks with Maoist groups. He stressed the need to listen to tribal voices and protect their connection to the land and natural resources.

TRS and several civil society organizations blame the conflict on the government’s alleged ties with multinational companies. They accuse the government of trying to clear the forests by displacing locals, allowing corporations to extract minerals and timber. Locals who resist are often labeled as Maoists, they claim.

Human rights groups have also raised concerns. They argue that using military forces against citizens, especially in forest regions, is wrong. Instead of treating the issue as a security threat, they say it should be addressed as a matter of social justice, economic inequality, and environmental protection.

TRS is urging the central government to stop Operation Kagar and start building trust with tribal communities. They believe the only real solution lies in respecting tribal rights, protecting natural resources, and opening up peaceful negotiations.

The party has called on all political groups, social activists, and the general public to join tomorrow’s peace gathering in Gadwal and show their support for a peaceful future.
