Hyderabad’s upcoming luxury project, the Trump Towers, has hit a legal roadblock. The issue stems from a land dispute raised by Ram Reddy Nandela, who claims he never gave permission for the high-end development to take place on his property.
The twin 63-story towers are planned for Kokapet, a prime and costly location in Greater Hyderabad. The project is being developed by Tribeca Developers, the official Indian partner of the Trump Organization, in collaboration with IRA Realty Tech Private Limited.
Ram Reddy Nandela, one of the landowners, issued a public notice accusing the developers of moving forward without his approval. He said that some co-owners are trying to sell or transfer the entire land without informing him. He called the project “fraudulent” and legally invalid.
The land in question measures 12,602 square yards and is located at Plot No. 7, Site-1 in Survey No. 109, Kokapet Village, under Gandipet Mandal in Rangareddy District. Nandela’s lawyer, K Raghava Ramana, stated that his client was never contacted or asked for consent regarding the Trump Towers venture.
In the public notice, Nandela warned that developing or buying property on this land without his permission is risky and could lead to legal trouble. He emphasized that anyone involved in such transactions does so at their own risk.
Despite this controversy, the project remains ambitious. IRA Infra plans to invest ₹3,500 crore to build 400 ultra-luxury apartments. Each unit is expected to cost at least ₹4 crore, with the largest homes capped at 5,000 square feet.
Unique features like a 48-foot tall amenities center, squash courts, and a clubhouse will connect the towers. The developers aim to finish construction within five years. The towers will feature premium designs, including glass and chrome finishes, modeled after other Trump Towers around the world.
Previously, Tribeca Developers successfully launched Trump-branded towers in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, and Gurgaon. The Hyderabad project was announced in November last year.
When contacted for comment on the legal dispute, IRA Realty Tech Private Limited did not respond.
