In Aiza town, part of the Jogulamba Gadwal district, a school bus from Navabharat High School nearly caused a disaster on Monday morning. The bus lost control at the Telangana Chowrasta and headed toward several motorcyclists.
Witnesses said the brakes failed, making the bus speed through the busy intersection. Many bikers were caught in the chaos, but luckily, there were no serious injuries or deaths. The bikers escaped with minor injuries, while some vehicles were damaged.
This event has angered local residents. They blame the Road Transport Office (RTO) for corruption, claiming that unfit school buses get fitness certificates through bribery.
One worried parent said, “The bus should not have been on the road. Proper checks would have prevented this. Our children’s safety is at risk.”
Residents are also worried about the safety of everyone on the roads, pointing out that such buses are dangerous for all commuters, not just schoolchildren.
The incident has led to strong community demands for action against the school management and the RTO officials who approved the bus for the road. Locals want immediate measures to ensure only safe vehicles operate, especially those carrying children.
The RTO has not yet made an official statement, but public pressure is rising. Police have taken the bus into custody, and an investigation into its maintenance records is expected.
This event has sparked citizen activism in Aiza, pushing for transparent vehicle checks and stricter regulations to prevent future incidents.
