Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University’s Urdu Department, along with the Nazeer Ahmed Educational and Memorial Trust, hosted the ‘Annual Nazeer Ahmed Memorial Lecture’ on August 19, 2025.
This year’s event celebrated the 1857 heroes of Hyderabad: Maulvi Allauddin, who was sent to Kala Pani, and Turrebaz Khan, who was executed for leading an attack on the Residency.
H H Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan led the gathering. Prof. Arshiya Jabeen delivered the keynote speech, and Dr. Mohammed Shoaib Ahmed was the Chief Guest. A new website dedicated to Asaf Jahi history was introduced. The lecture ended with expressions of gratitude and a community lunch for students and scholars.
