In Munugodu, located in Nalgonda, officials tackled the ongoing urea shortage affecting farmers by selling the limited supply under police supervision. For over a week, the area had not received any urea, causing worry among the farming community.
A truck with urea finally arrived at the Munugodu PACS office on Friday night. News of its arrival spread quickly, and by 4 am, farmers began to line up. By morning, the crowd swelled to over 500 farmers. Officials, alongside police officers, managed the distribution process to ensure fairness. They allotted two bags of urea to each farmer.
Small-scale farmers felt relieved to receive some urea, but those with larger plots, ranging from 10 to 20 acres, found two bags insufficient. Unfortunately, farmers who arrived late in the morning, around 11 am, left empty-handed as the supply was exhausted.
Officials promised that more urea shipments would arrive in the next few days, encouraging farmers to remain patient.
