The old Collectorate building in Nagarkurnool is facing multiple problems that are affecting the employees who work there. The building currently houses several offices, including health department divisions, the Zilla Parishad office, the court, and a hostel for medical college students.
Employees say that when they enter the building each day, they are met with piles of garbage and debris. The courtyard inside is filled with trash, and the presence of venomous snakes adds to their concern and fear.
What was once a symbol of hope when the districts were formed has now become a source of frustration for many. Workers describe the old Collectorate as looking like a “haunted bungalow.” The poor conditions are making life difficult for the staff and students who work and study there.
The new Collectorate has been in operation for almost two years, but employees feel that the old building has been neglected. Authorities seem to have forgotten about maintaining it, leaving the place in a state of disrepair.
Chairs in the office are covered in dust and cannot be used. The toilets have become so deteriorated that no one uses them anymore.
Many people are questioning why officials have not done anything about the situation. Employees are calling on the authorities to act quickly by assigning cleaning staff to improve the conditions at the old Collectorate.
