Hyderabad: B Vinod Kumar, a senior leader of the BRS, urged the government on Wednesday to begin repairs on the Medigadda project immediately. He emphasized that the NDSA report is unnecessary for the repairs to proceed.
During a press conference at the party office, Vinod Kumar stated that the repairs could be initiated without waiting for the NDSA report. He mentioned that the NDSA had also suggested the state government should evaluate and repair the Medigadda project independently. According to him, the government can fix the Medigadda barrage without depending on the NDSA’s decision. He pointed out that water is being wasted as it flows into the sea because Medigadda lacks proper storage. Fortunately, the Annaram and Sundilla barrages remain unaffected. Vinod Kumar urged the committee responsible for the repairs to act quickly and called on Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy to lead the effort.
When asked about recent developments, Vinod Kumar confirmed that their party received a notice. He assured that their leader, K Chandrashekar Rao, would respond to any inquiries from the Commission. He declined to comment on BRS MLC Kavitha, noting that the party’s working president, KT Rama Rao, had already addressed the matter.
