Kalvakuntla Kavitha, a leader from the BRS, criticized the Congress government on Wednesday. She mentioned that the government’s actions show an attitude against helping the poor. An official’s behavior at the Social Welfare Gurukul Society highlights this issue.
On social media, Kavitha shared her concerns. She pointed out that during the BRS rule, each social welfare school received Rs 40,000 monthly. This money was for hiring four temporary workers to handle cleaning tasks. However, since August last year, the Congress government stopped these payments.
Additionally, the government removed assistant caretakers in 240 schools. Now, students are forced to act as wardens and manage the kitchens themselves.
Kavitha raised an alarming issue about an officer requiring students to clean toilets. She argued that this contradicts the purpose of Gurukuls, which is to protect students from marginalized communities from caste and class discrimination. She described this behavior as unfair and harmful to children’s rights and dignity.
Kavitha urged the Revanth Reddy government to take immediate action. She demanded the removal of the officer involved and the restoration of necessary funds for the proper operation of social welfare schools.
