Members of the Public Garden Walker Association in Hyderabad have started an awareness campaign at the Public Gardens near the Telangana Legislative Assembly. They are urging authorities to improve maintenance in the park. The goal is to address issues like the lack of dustbins, broken benches, damaged swings, and proper washrooms. The campaign also aims to restore historical structures within the park.

The walkers are concerned about a pond on the premises that has dried up and become covered in algae. They collected signatures from visitors and submitted a letter to the Telangana Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy. They are waiting for a response. A social activist named Mohammed Abid Ali criticized the neglect of the 150-year-old garden. He highlighted the unkempt pathways, debris, and safety hazards in the park.

The walkers have been requesting funds for garden renovation for years. If the government does not act, they plan to collect donations and improve the park themselves. One walker, Mohammed Sarwar, mentioned the lack of facilities like separate washrooms for women and roaming dogs in the garden. He emphasized the need for better maintenance and amenities in the park.
