Hyderabad: Telangana BJP leader Raghunandan Rao said that the Waqf Amendment Act is meant to help poor Muslims. He accused some people of opposing the Act for political reasons.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Raghunandan explained that the law would make the management of Waqf properties more transparent. He said it would ensure these properties are used properly for the benefit of the community.
He asked the Chief Minister to release full details of Waqf properties in the Old City area so the public can know what is happening with them.
Raghunandan also said that the BJP plans to educate people about the Waqf Act, especially in areas with large Muslim populations. The goal is to stop the spread of false information and help people understand the law better.
He stressed that reforms are needed in how Waqf properties are managed so that they truly help the poor members of the Muslim community.
