Severe Heatwave Grips Telangana, Hyderabad Records 41°C for First Time
Northern parts of Telangana are experiencing a strong heatwave, with temperatures rising above 44°C on Monday. This is the first time this year that temperatures have reached such high levels.
Among the affected areas, Adilabad recorded the highest temperature at 44°C. Close behind were Asifabad and Nirmal at 43.8°C, and Mancherial at 43.7°C. Other districts like Jagitial, Sircilla, and Peddapalli also saw temperatures go beyond 43°C.
The heatwave also reached Hyderabad. For the first time this season, the city’s temperature rose above 41°C. Areas such as Banjara Hills, Musheerabad, Gajularamaram, and Habsiguda all recorded temperatures of 41.5°C or higher. Charminar and Khairtabad were not far behind, with both registering 41.4°C.
In the last 24 hours, Hyderabad’s highest temperature was 38.6°C — which is normal for this time of year. However, the minimum temperature was 25.9°C, slightly above the average by 0.6°C.
