    Handloom Celebrations in Gadwal and Rajoli on December 5 and 6

    The Handloom and Textile Department will host special celebrations in Gadwal and Rajoli as part of the “Praja Palana – Praja Vijayotsava” program. The events aim to promote and honor the rich handloom heritage of the region.

    The first event will take place on December 5 at 10:00 AM in the Collectorate Conference Hall in Gadwal. The second event is scheduled for December 6 at the Rythu Vedika in Rajoli. Senior officials, including the District Collector and local MLAs, will attend as chief guests.

    One of the main attractions of the event is a fashion show featuring intermediate and degree students. These young participants will showcase handloom outfits, and the winners will be awarded special prizes.

    Another key highlight is the felicitation of ten senior weavers. These individuals will be honored for their significant contributions to preserving the traditional art of handloom weaving.

    In addition, cooperative handloom societies will receive cheques under the Pavala Vaddi (quarter interest) scheme as part of the program’s efforts to support and uplift the weaving community.

    District Assistant Director of Handloom and Textile Department, Govindayya, called on weavers to participate in large numbers. He emphasized the importance of protecting the region’s handloom legacy and ensuring the success of these celebrations.
