Hyderabad – The All India Mahila Congress has issued a show-cause notice to M Sunitha Rao, the Mahila Congress State President, for staging a protest inside Gandhi Bhavan on May 14. The protest targeted the PCC president and took place within his office chambers.
According to the notice, Sunitha Rao has seven days to explain her actions. The national leadership warned that ignoring the notice would lead to disciplinary action.
Alka Lamba, President of the All India Mahila Congress, called the protest a serious breach of party discipline. She stated that such behavior does not align with the responsibilities expected from someone in a leadership position.
“The party encourages open dialogue,” said Lamba, “but it must be done respectfully, through the right channels, and at the right time and place.”
The notice also mentioned that Sunitha Rao’s actions have harmed the party’s image and disrupted internal unity. The leadership expects her to respond in writing within the given deadline.
Failure to reply, the notice stated, would result in further action, for which Rao would be held fully accountable.
