Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA) has taken firm action against illegal constructions in Peerzadiguda Municipality, located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
HYDRA officials, led by Commissioner AV Ranganath, recently inspected several areas in the municipality. During their visit, they identified and removed unauthorized buildings constructed by a private institution, SEZ School, in Medipally.
The school, owned by Jashwanth Reddy, had illegally built over a 30-foot-wide road inside Yadadri Residential Colony. This road was important because it connected around 80 residential plots, spread across 5.2 acres, to the Warangal Highway. The school’s expansion blocked access, severely affecting the residents.
After receiving complaints from the Yadadri Residential Welfare Association, HYDRA carried out a site inspection. Officials confirmed the encroachment and quickly moved to demolish the unauthorized structures.
In addition to this action, Commissioner Ranganath also visited Parvathapur to address concerns about land encroachments near Muslim and Christian burial grounds. Locals had raised alarms over religious properties being unlawfully occupied.
Ranganath assured residents that all illegal structures on cemetery land would be cleared within three to four days. His commitment has brought relief to both the Muslim and Christian communities, who had been demanding action for several months.
Meanwhile, during the Prajavani public grievance program held on Monday, HYDRA received 59 complaints. About 70% of them involved encroachments on public spaces such as parks, roads, and land meant for community use.
HYDRA continues to take strong steps to protect public property and respond to citizen concerns swiftly.
