In Nagar Kurnool district, a special training program was held to teach farmers about high-density and cotton crop management. The event took place at the Palem Agricultural Research Center and was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). The training was conducted in three villages: Kortikal, Tippapur, and Thaduru, all located in the Achampet constituency.

Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, the Program Coordinator of KVK, highlighted the importance of the high-density farming method. He explained that this approach helps farmers achieve higher yields even on small plots of land. In particular, it benefits cotton farming by allowing the crop to mature uniformly, which shortens the crop cycle. This allows farmers to grow a second crop within the same year. Dr. Reddy also mentioned that the soils in Nagar Kurnool are ideal for this farming method.

Dr. O. Shaila, an entomologist from the Palem Agricultural Research Center, spoke about pest management techniques. She provided advice on how to protect high-density cotton crops from pests. Dr. Shaila also shared tips on crop protection for groundnut, black gram, green gram, and maize during the Rabi season.

The event was attended by other experts, including Dr. B. Rajasekhar, Dr. Adi Shankar, and Dr. Ramakrishna. Several young professionals, such as Raghuvanshi Singh, Rajesh, Gnaneshwar, and Harish, were also present. In total, 234 farmers participated in the training program.
