Hyderabad: Over 3,000 people, including students, parents, and community members, gathered at Oxford Grammar High School (OGHS) for a week-long celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day. The event emphasized unity and well-being with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” Participants explored how yoga can improve physical health, mental focus, and inner peace.
The activities started on June 19. Young students from Grades 3, 4, and 5 practiced simple yoga poses and breathing techniques. On June 20, older students took part, with Grade 9 attending a special session, “Yoga for Success,” in partnership with the Isha Foundation. This session highlighted meditation and mental strength for better concentration.
The main event occurred on June 21, International Yoga Day. Families and locals came to the school campus at dawn, surrounded by the calming sounds of nature and music. Mr. Ranjith and Ms. Sathvika, certified instructors from the school’s Physical Education team, led the yoga practice. Participants felt relaxed and praised the school’s efforts to build community ties and enhance well-being.
Key figures like Mrs. Prarthana Manikonda, Mr. Prabhakar, Mrs. Ramanjula, Mrs. Rekha Rao, and Mrs. Fatima Khazim joined the event, highlighting yoga as a source of strength and peace. OGHS also thanked volunteers Ms. Archana and Mr. Aditya, along with the Isha Foundation, for their support.
