Hyderabad: The Deputy Chief Minister, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, has announced that the State government will build a large Information Technology (IT) Knowledge Hub in Puppalaguda. The project will cover 450 acres of land.
This new IT hub is expected to improve the city’s IT infrastructure and create jobs for nearly five lakh young people. A high-level meeting was held on Thursday to discuss the plan. Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Dudilla Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, attended the meeting.
Some of the land planned for the project was previously given to Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), IAS officers, revenue officials, and police societies. However, the Supreme Court recently cancelled 200 acres of these land allocations. To make up for this, the government will add 250 acres of land managed by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, which is located next to Puppalaguda.
The Deputy CM highlighted how big the project is and said it will provide many job opportunities for young people and help grow the local economy.
The Ministers instructed officials to begin work on the first phase of the IT Knowledge Hub using the 450 acres near Puppalaguda.
They also remembered that the foundation stone for Hyderabad’s Hi-Tec City was laid during the time of Congress Chief Minister Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy. That led to the creation of the Knowledge Hub and later the Financial District. The Ministerial Sub-Committee said that Hyderabad has always played a key role in global IT developments and should now lead in the growing field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well.
