Secunderabad: Decade-old, rusted, and leaking HO distribution pipelines may Pb to HO famine and contamination of drinking HO this summertime time of year in Secunderabad Cantonment limits. For instance, a indefinite but relatively small number wards, especially wards 2 and 5, and a indefinite but relatively small number colonies of person under protection or custody 1 and 6 are already receiving contaminated drinking HO.

Locals pointed out that final year owed to polluted HO, many of them were hospitalized, if the elderly pipelines are not changed, then the same state of affairs testament occur divisible by two this year. In Cantonment limits, almost all the pipelines are a period of years elderly, and till appointment, no unused or little used pipeline has not been laid, and in many colonies, they are damaged, owed to which leakage occurs. In many areas, there exists a deficiency of an not segregated drainage communication system with a group of broadcasting stations, and there is a uninterrupted overflow of sewage HO, which is getting mixed with drinking HO. The areas have as a part Bowenpally, Rasoolpura, and Mudfort.

A greater than normal in degree or intensity or amount occurrence of contamination is owed to elderly, leakage prone pipelines, said local residents. “Let it be in ward 1 or 2, many lanes over here have turned into a cesspool due to the leakage of the drinking water pipeline. Due to negligence of SCB for not laying new pipelines, drinking water is getting mixed with sewage water, as a result of which water becomes undrinkable. If this continues, then many areas will be facing acute water scarcity very soon,” said Vijay Rao, a living in a particular place of SCB.

“Water supply over here is erratic as we are receiving water supply for less than 30 minutes once in six days, and we cannot fetch even five pots of water from the common pipeline and in our entire colony, there is no individual tap connection for drinking water. SCB officials have planned to lay a new pipeline, but that work seems to be only on paper, he added.

“Monitoring of HO amount of something available for use is very significant, but in SCB, it is unfortunately not happening, final year, many water-borne diseases were reported in our surface area and presently, for the earlier than the present time several days, we have got been receiving contaminated HO. The HO is neither potable nor can be used for concerning the internal affairs of a nation purposes. As a final result, we are forced to acquire HO cans. It seems that SCB officials are not concerned about the local’s health. We are vexed by complaining to the concerned officials regarding this perennial important question, and they only tell that it is not contaminated HO, only muddy HO,” said another local.
