Hyderabad: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is ramping up its investigation into alleged issues surrounding the Formula E Race. They have asked BRS working president K T Rama Rao to provide his mobile phones and laptops by Wednesday.

K T Rama Rao was questioned by ACB officials for more than seven hours the previous day, focusing on payments made to a private company without clear government approval. On Tuesday, ACB formally requested his devices. K T Rama Rao stated he would decide about handing over his devices after consulting his legal team. Meanwhile, BRS party’s social media convener, Y Satish Reddy, expressed surprise at this request, suggesting it might be influenced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Satish Reddy claimed that the demand for KTR’s phone came because Chief Minister Reddy was directing the situation. He questioned why KTR should provide personal devices since the Formula E Race was a government matter. He pointed out that the race was organized with government approval and funds were transferred officially from the government treasury.

Reddy emphasized that all race-related activities were legally conducted based on government decisions and agreements. He queried the necessity of KTR’s personal phone, citing that, under Article 21 and the IT Act 2000, a personal phone can’t be requested without a criminal case or court order. Reddy argued that this request was politically motivated, aiming to harass KTR, and pointed out that the race had successfully drawn investments and benefited the state.
