Hyderabad: The Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS) achieved top honors at UDAAN 2025, hosted at the HITEX Exhibition Centre alongside the Hyderabad Dental Show. Organized by the Indian Dental Association (IDA), the event aimed to recognize student achievements in dentistry and arts.
Maj Gen Ajay Misra, the General Officer Commanding of the Telangana & Andhra Sub Area and Chairman of ACDS, praised Dr. Mamta Kaushik, the Principal, and her team for their outstanding performance. He noted the students’ enthusiasm, discipline, and excellence in various categories.
ACDS sent a strong team of 42 students, including 2nd, 3rd, and final-year undergraduates, interns, and postgraduates. They participated in a wide range of events such as scientific paper and poster presentations, table clinics, quizzes, debates, and cultural activities like dance, singing, and fashion shows.
The students’ efforts resulted in a significant medal collection: 18 awards in scientific competitions and 8 in cultural events. They secured the Overall 1st Prize for Best Table Clinic and Overall 2nd Prize in Debate (Scientific). They also won 1st Prizes in Solo Dance, Duet Dance, and Solo Singing, and 2nd Prizes in Duet Singing and Group Dance.
ACDS faculty members actively participated as well. Dr. Neha Mehra, a Reader in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, delivered a keynote lecture on “Endodontic Emergencies.” Additionally, five faculty members presented scientific papers and posters, and nine were chosen to chair scientific sessions, highlighting ACDS’s academic strength.
