Acting Chief Justice says we need better gender awareness

Hyderabad: An event was held on Thursday evening by the Telangana High Court Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee (GSICC) at the Bar Association hall to present awards. Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul attended as the chief guest, handing out prizes and mementos to winners of recent competitions organized by the committee. He emphasized the need to eliminate gender bias through conscious efforts and encouraged self-reflection to recognize and remove personal biases.

Justice Paul cited a renowned saying from Manusmriti: where women are respected, prosperity thrives; where they are mistreated, even noble actions fail. He stressed that understanding women’s struggles at a personal level is crucial for societal change.

In Hindi, he stated, “After death, a person thinks nothing, speaks nothing; not thinking or speaking is akin to being dead.” He urged all men to respect and value women.

Justice Paul praised the GSICC for their efforts in raising gender awareness. The GSICC chairperson highlighted the significance of respecting women in the workplace and society.

The event was attended by High Court judges, Telangana Bar Council chairman A Narsimha Reddy, HC Bar Association president Anumula Jagan, HC officials, and advocates.
