The Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has officially filed a petition to disqualify members aligned with the Sharad Pawar group of MLAs at the Maharashtra assembly speaker’s office, according to inside sources. This move is a response to the previous disqualification petition filed by the Sharad Pawar camp against approximately 41 MLAs supporting the Ajit Pawar faction.

The petition for disqualification from the Sharad Pawar camp includes the names of several individuals such as Jayant Patil, Jitendra Awhad, Rohit Pawar, Rajesh Tope, Anil Deshmukh, Sandeep Kshirsagar, Mansingh Naik, Prajakta Tanpure, Ravindra Bhusara, and Balasaheb Patil. However, Nawab Malik, Suman Patil, Ashok Pawar, and Chetan Tupe were not included in this list.

Despite these developments, senior leaders from both factions of the NCP have publicly stated that there is no internal division within the party.

The Election Commission has scheduled a personal hearing for the rival factions of the NCP on October 6. This hearing is in response to a petition filed by the Ajit group, claiming that Ajit Pawar’s election as the party’s national president is legitimate.
