Srinagar: The Ellamma Kalyanotsavam in Balkampet is being celebrated with grandeur and splendor. The festival began at 9:30 am this morning. The organizers have broadcasted the live telecast of the Ellamma’s wedding on television for the people to watch. It was also reported that special buses have been arranged for devotees from various regions to visit the temple.
The first Tuesday of the month of Ashada witnesses the grand celebration of the Ellamma Kalyanam in Balkampet. Government Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav along with his family attended the event and presented new clothes as an offering. Additionally, lakhs of devotees gathered to apply tilak (vermilion) for the wedding ceremony. This year, devotees participated in the Kalyanotsavam with great enthusiasm. The authorities made all arrangements without any inconvenience to the devotees.
Moreover, on Monday, numerous rituals were performed as part of the Balkampet Ellamma Kalyanotsavam. The wedding ceremony of Ellamma is being conducted with utmost grandeur. Tomorrow, a Rathotsavam (chariot procession) will also take place. Thus, the festivities of Ellamma’s wedding will come to an end.
