The Centre has been working to develop the civil aviation sector in Telangana. There are now more airports and aircraft than there were in 2013-14. The GMR Hyderabad Airport is being expanded, and the Centre’s UDAN program makes air travel more accessible. Telangana has been awarded 66 routes by AAI, with 42 of them already operational. A water aerodrome at Nagarjunasagar has also been sanctioned. The Civil Aviation Research Organisation (CARO) is being established in Hyderabad, which will make it a global leader in aviation technologies. The new facility will focus on research and development for air navigation and air traffic management, among other things.
