Hyderabad / Chandigarh: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, announced a significant 83% drop in left-wing extremist violence since 2010. He credited this decrease to the strategic policies of the Modi government. Kumar stated that the government aims to achieve a “Naxal-free India” by March 2026 and is intensifying efforts to eliminate terrorism for national peace and prosperity. During his visit to the NSG campus in Haryana on Wednesday, he paid tribute to fallen heroes, inaugurated a new stadium and swimming pool, and laid the foundation for an NSG residential complex.
“The NSG showcases exceptional skill and bravery, playing a crucial role in counter-terrorism and national security. The recent Operation Sindoor reflects the government’s determination to fight terrorism and respond to threats like the Pahalgam attack,” he said. Kumar highlighted that India’s strength lies in its soldiers’ courage and discipline, emphasizing the NSG’s role in tackling modern challenges, such as cyber threats.
The Modi government is focusing on defense reforms and self-reliance, designating 2025 as the “Year of Defense Reforms.” The goal is to modernize the armed forces with technological advancements, including integrating NSG forces with AI and drone capabilities. Kumar reiterated the unwavering commitment to national security and dignity.
