Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar shared plans to boost development in the Karimnagar region, aiming to focus less on direct politics there.
In Husnabad, Siddipet district, Kumar highlighted teamwork with State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to enhance local infrastructure and education.
A key event was the introduction of the ‘Modi gift’ campaign, promising free bicycles yearly to all Class 10 students in government schools. Recalling a touching moment from his Praja Sangrama Yatra in Nirmal, Kumar spoke about a student, Ram Charan, who couldn’t afford a bicycle and missed school. This experience drove his commitment to provide bicycles to support student mobility and opportunity.
Kumar stated, “A student’s first asset is a bicycle, and I’m proud to give you that.” Over a hundred students received bicycles with officials like District Collector K. Hymavathi and Additional Collector Garima Agarwal attending. Students showed gratitude, with some tying a rakhi on the Minister.
Beyond bicycles, Kumar announced ‘Modi kits’ for students from nursery to Class 6, including school supplies like bags and notebooks. Plans also include setting up water purification plants and upgrading school infrastructure for better education.
He praised Minister Ponnam‘s environmental efforts, such as ‘Steel banks’ to reduce plastic. Both are working on opening a Navodaya School and a Sainik School in Husnabad to improve education and discipline.
Kumar emphasized education’s transformative power, pointing to local officials Hymavathi, Agarwal, and the Police Commissioner as success stories. He compared their achievements to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, stressing overcoming adversity through learning.
He honored Indian armed forces on Kargil Diwas, reflecting on past and present leaders’ resolve against terrorism.
Kumar encouraged students to focus on academics and societal contributions, saying, “Let us draw inspiration from those who rose despite adversity—and now it’s our time to uplift others.”
