Gadwal: With heavy rains affecting the districts, G. Ravi, IAS, the Special Officer for the former Mahabubnagar district, instructed officials to take early steps to reduce the risk of natural disasters.

On Saturday, he held a video call with district collectors, additional collectors, and other officials to discuss how to handle the bad weather effectively.

Mr. G. Ravi urged close monitoring of tanks, ponds, and reservoirs due to the ongoing rain. He advised officials to keep a watch on these water bodies to prevent accidents. He also recommended redirecting people from overflowing streams and rivers by using signs, barricades, and boards.

He emphasized the importance of preventing diseases, avoiding electrical dangers, and ensuring safe drinking water by stopping contamination. He suggested setting up a special control room at the Collectorate if needed for 24/7 coordination.
