Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, made strong remarks on Sunday against the Majlis party leaders. He compared them to poisonous snakes and accused them of cheating the Muslim community. He said they are using Muslim votes for their gain but not working for the real welfare of Muslims.

Speaking to the media, Bandi Sanjay claimed that Majlis leaders have stolen Waqf properties. He also said the recent meeting held at Darussalam by the Majlis party was supported by the Congress party. According to him, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government funded and helped organize the event. He alleged that those who have taken Waqf lands were part of the meeting and are misleading Muslims.

He warned that Majlis leaders pretend to support Muslims, but are actually pushing them into poverty by misusing Waqf properties. He pointed to a report by the Central Waqf Council, which says there are over 8 lakh acres of Waqf land in India, worth more than ₹10 lakh crore. He said the expected annual income from these lands is ₹12,000 crore but accused certain leaders of misusing this money.

Bandi Sanjay also alleged that Waqf properties have been wrongly claimed over lands belonging to other religious groups. He questioned how Waqf could claim ownership of lands that have temples, Gurudwaras, and even farmland belonging to Christian and Lingayat communities.

He said that in Telangana alone, there are 77,000 acres of Waqf land, and 80% of it is under illegal occupation. He accused the Owaisi family and Majlis leaders of taking over these lands and building hospitals, schools, and businesses, but not using any of the money to help poor Muslims in the Old City of Hyderabad.

The Union Minister challenged these leaders to a public debate on how Waqf properties are being used. He accused them of making baseless claims about Hindu involvement while avoiding the real issues. He urged the state government to conduct an investigation into who has taken Waqf lands and how much was taken by the Owaisi family. He also demanded a whitepaper showing how much money has been spent on Muslim welfare.

Finally, Bandi Sanjay criticized CM Revanth Reddy for visiting Japan to attract investments while farmers in Telangana are suffering due to crop damage caused by unseasonal rains and hailstorms. He asked why the Chief Minister is abroad during such a crisis and called on other ministers to at least support the farmers during this tough time.
