Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has stressed the importance of completing the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) process according to the rules.
On Saturday, Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, reviewed LRS applications with district Collectors via video conference. The meeting took place at the Khammam Integrated District Collectorate and the Bhupalpally IDOC.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government will start the legal regularisation of LRS applications after reviewing them with relevant officials. He assured that a support system would be provided to help officials scrutinize the LRS applications effectively.
He directed officials to ensure there is no harm to the public or financial loss to the government with the 2020 LRS applications. He also emphasized that the LRS process should not damage government lands or encroach on water resources, canals, and tanks.
He mentioned that about 20 lakh LRS applications are pending and asked for their swift scrutiny according to the guidelines. He instructed district Collectors to focus on LRS applications and ensure they are completed on time, with support from the state level.
