Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh announced that the newly launched Bhoo Bharati – 2025 and its updated ROR (Record of Rights) system will help solve land disputes across Telangana. He said this important initiative by the state government will ensure rightful land ownership for farmers and end long-standing problems related to land.
He shared these views during an awareness seminar held at the Gadwal Market Yard on Thursday. The Collector explained the main features and advantages of the Bhoo Bharati Act to the attending farmers.
The Bhoo Bharati Act – 2025 replaces the old Dharani system and brings major changes to how land records are managed. The law includes 23 sections and 18 rules, which aim to improve land governance and fix errors in land documents.
Under this new act, farmers will get full ownership rights over their land. This will remove any confusion about ownership and help avoid legal fights. A new system called “Bhoodhaar,” similar to Aadhaar, is also being planned. Each piece of land will get a unique ID number with details like survey numbers and boundaries.
The act also allows corrections in land records and requires land surveys and map creation before any land registration or changes in ownership. Old issues like Sada Bainamas (informal land sales) will be dealt with quickly under this law.
It also ensures that property transfers and inheritance cases are handled in a timely and transparent way. A two-level appeal system is being set up so that farmers have a legal way to address any disputes. The government also plans to offer free legal help to poor farmers soon.
The Collector added that this law gives the government the power to cancel land claims that were obtained through fraud.
Starting May 1, Village Governance Officers will be appointed to help solve land issues more easily. Awareness programs will also be held in Rythu Vedikas (farmer centers) in villages, with help from Mandal Agriculture Officers.
The Collector encouraged farmers to learn about the new law and take full advantage of it, calling it a historic step toward solving land problems permanently.
Other officials who attended the event included Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, RDO Srinivasa Rao, Library Corporation Chairman Neeli Srinivasulu, PACS Chairman Subhan, Gadwal Tahsildar Mallikarjun, and District Marketing Officer Pushpamma, along with several farmers.
The seminar ended with a call for teamwork to make the Bhoo Bharati system successful across the region.
