Gadwal: BJP District President Ramanjaneyaulu spoke at a press conference in Ieeja town, where he accused the Telangana Congress government of misleading people about the source of funding for the free rice distribution scheme.
He said that the central government is giving ₹10,000 crore to supply fine rice to poor families in Telangana. According to him, the central government is also covering all the costs, including buying rice from farmers, bags, stitching materials, transport, and labor.
Ramanjaneyaulu claimed that the total cost of providing each portion of fine rice is ₹50. Out of this, the Congress government contributes only ₹10, while the central government pays ₹40. He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is hiding this information from the public.
He further demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo be printed on ration cards as a way to recognize the central government’s role in the scheme.
Several BJP leaders were present at the event, including former district president Ramachandra Reddy, Gadwal Assembly candidate Shiva Reddy, Mandal president Gopalakrishna, and town vice presidents Lakshman Goud, Narasimhulu, Rajasekhar, Venkatesh, and Bellam Narsimhulu.
