Gadwal: CPI Urges Action to Save Historic Gadwal Fort and Heritage Sites
The Communist Party of India (CPI) is demanding strong action against people who have illegally occupied parts of the historic Gadwal Fort and other important heritage sites in the area. The party says these encroachments are damaging the region’s cultural legacy and must be stopped immediately.
CPI leaders claim that some individuals are taking over public wells and ancient structures around the fort without permission. They believe that these sites, which were built by past rulers, are valuable and should be preserved for future generations.
CPI Wants Municipal Commissioner Removed
The CPI’s Gadwal district committee has also called for the suspension of the Gadwal Municipal Commissioner. According to CPI District Secretary B. Anjaneyulu, the municipal authorities have failed to stop illegal occupation of heritage properties.
At a press conference held on Tuesday morning at the CPI district office, Anjaneyulu asked the government and district collector to investigate former municipal chairman Venugopal. He accused Venugopal of being involved in land grabbing and said that anyone using fake documents to take over public land should face legal action.
Protecting Gadwal’s History
CPI leaders said that Gadwal’s forts and buildings are part of the region’s rich history and contribute to its pride. They asked the Archaeology Department and government officials to step in immediately to protect and restore these old structures.
The party warned that if the authorities continue to ignore the issue, they will organize large protests against the responsible officials and politicians.
Several CPI leaders attended the press meeting, including former AISF state secretary D. Ramu, AITUC district secretary Elkuru Ranganna, CPI mandal leader Khaseem, AIYF district president B. Paramesh, and others such as Venkatanna, Gangadhar, Krishna, and Kiran Kumar.
